On a cold January morning, 140 runners, walkers and strollers took to the riverside trail in Kamloops. By lunchtime the run had raised $6,200.
Where the money goes
The funds will buy 12 carpentry tool sets for the school in Bweyale, enough to equip a full cohort. Each set includes a saw, plane, chisels, square and hammer, and is bought locally in Uganda to keep the money in the community.
“We came for a run on a cold morning and left having equipped a classroom.”
